Why I’m Focusing on Enabling Others to Be Creative

This past year, something in my artistic journey shifted. I still love making my own work, but I found myself increasingly drawn to something even more meaningful—helping others make art. Not in a big, dramatic way, but in an everyday, approachable, “you can absolutely do this” way.

I’ve met so many people who believe creativity is something you’re either “born with” or not. And that belief keeps them from trying. It keeps them from discovering how joyful art can be. Watching that fear melt away—even a little—is honestly one of the best feelings in the world.

My new focus is about breaking down those barriers. Through handmade kits, accessible products, simple instructions, and supportive teaching, I want to create opportunities for people to engage with art without feeling overwhelmed or judged. Everyone deserves the chance to explore their creative side, regardless of experience, skill, or ability level.

Volunteering at Silver Spring Studio has shaped this shift in a huge way. Working with people of varied abilities taught me how powerful art can be when it’s truly accessible—not watered down, not condescending, but adapted thoughtfully and respectfully. After seeing how confidence blooms in that environment, I knew I wanted to bring that same energy into my business.

My products—reverse colouring books, Make a Card Kits, Twist and Draw, watercolour calendars—are all designed with that mission in mind: make creativity easy, fun, and welcoming.

I still create art for myself, of course. But the moments that stay with me—the ones that feel important—are when someone says, “I didn’t think I could make something like this,” and they’re smiling as they hold up their finished piece.

Helping others discover their own creativity feels like the most authentic extension of my artistic life. It’s brightened everything I do.
