It’s Official: Mini-Masterpieces is starting in May!

Remember that mysterious thing I was teasing a little while back? The one involving trading, creativity, and something that fits in your hand?

It has a name now. Mini-Masterpieces — an artist trading card (ATC) club, created in partnership with Silver Spring Studio right here in Ottawa.

So What Is It?

Artist trading cards are original, hand-made pieces of art on 2.5″ x 3.5″ cards. You create them, you trade them. No selling, no buying. You make something, someone else makes something, and you swap. Every card you take home was made by another person at the table. That’s the whole idea.

You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need experience. Not only that, you can use any medium you like.

The Details

What: Free information session for Mini-Masterpieces, our new ATC club

When: May 27th, 2026

Where: Silver Spring Studio, Ottawa (registrants will be contacted with the full address and details)

Cost: The info session is free. Annual club membership fees are being finalized and will be announced soon. Silver Spring Studio staff and volunteers get a free membership for life.

Who Can Come?

Everyone. This is open to the general public. Whether you’ve been making art for decades or you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or done collage, this is designed for you. The whole point is getting people around a table, making things together, and walking away with something someone else created.

What Will The Info Session Involve?

The info session will allow us to tell you all about ATCs, and we will spend time creating your first Mini-Masterpiece cards (one to keep and one to trade).

If you do have favourite art supplies, please bring them along. But don’t sweat it, we have loads at the studio.

What Do I Do Now?
